Akbar, the hero, has been awaiting execution for murder for two years - confined at sixteen so that the sentence could be carried out once he becomes an adult. His only chance is if his sister Firoozeh and fellow inmate Ali can convince the dead girl's father to forgive him. Yet, can love grow from this parched soil?
